Anyway, it's that time of the week again, and this weeks 52 week challenge theme is yellow! I'm a little fed up of pastel shades by now- I've used them quite a bit recently (thanks to some bad planning on my part in the challenge order...) so I decided to go the opposite way, with some bright yellow nails!
I started off with two coats of Barry M Pale Yellow as a base then topped it with one coat of Technic Pina Colada- an awesome (but very translucent) neon yellow!

Then I decided I'd like some stamping (which I've not done in a while either) and picked out this lovely zebra print pattern on BundleMonster plate BM223 :) Which I stamped on with e.l.f. Black (what else?!)
I somehow managed to smudge a huge chunk of polish off of my middle finger, so I added a diagonal stripe of black (clever huh?) to cover it up... and I actually quite like it!
Despite not being particularly keen on yellow (let alone neon, highlighter pen yellow) I really like this look, it's like a freakish neon animal! (with the worst camouflage ever!) But again, this is why I enjoy the challenge so much- I probably would have never wear bright yellow polish out of choice, but it turned out pretty well :)
What do you think to bright neon polish? Are you more of a pastels person?

Aw I wish the black was more...BLACK, but the print is super cute! I topped my yellow with a starry glitter "pa" polish!
ReplyDeleteI know, it was mostly my fault, e.l.f. black is usually really opaque- but my stamping technique was much less than perfect today... Ooh I can't wait to see :)

That neon is very vibrant! Good thinking that it may be more wearable with a bit of stamping :)
ReplyDeleteIt is rather! Yeah it definitely was- I quite like it with the stamp :)
