Review: Primark Tangle Teaser Dupe :)

As I mentioned last week, I somehow completely forgot to review my hairbrush, and as I did that I thought I should review my 'tangle teaser' brush too- because I love it just as much!

I won this as part of Rachels giveaway prize (see the haul here) so I'm not entirely sure how much it was (though as it's from Primark it can't be that much! I think somewhere around £1-£3 -let me know if you know the exact price!- so I'm certain it's much, much cheaper than the branded Tangle Teasers) and I've also never seen them in my local Primark; I think it's a bit hit or miss as to whether your store will stock them! (sorry!) Nevertheless I had to share my review because I think this is a great brush!

I pretty much only use this with wet hair and it is amazing at de-tangling my hair after washing. I have very long fine hair, which is also very prone to knotting and tangling itself up; with my usual brush it takes a serious effort to brush my hair after a shower, but this makes it really really easy, fast and pain free (which I can only assume must be much better for my hair too!)

The brush itself fits nicely into the palm of my hand, and has a little handle on the back which makes it easy to hold, and the cute heart shape (and the colour) pleases me far more than it should! :)

The bristles are made of stiff plastic (though it doesn't hurt to use at all- even if you touch the scalp- as they are wider and more blunt than most other brush bristles) and have lots of different lengths. I have no idea how it manages to de-tangle hair so fast (magic?)- but it does! It's also great on my sisters hair, which is much thicker (in both volume and hair type) than mine, so I think it would be good for any hair type.

I really cannot recommend this enough, it's so gentle on your hair (which is especially important when it's wet, as that's when hair is most prone to damage) and it makes brushing super-easy (I think this would be particularly great for impatient and wriggly children!) and if you see one in Primark you really MUST buy one! Your hair will thank you :)

Have you got one of these heart-shaped lovelies? Does anyone know how they compare to the branded Tangle Teasers?

  1. This does look very much like the TTs! I have a TT and absolutely love it. Although I would be tempted to pick up this bargain for a spare if I saw it x

    1. Yeah from what I've seen in shops it looks almost identical (except the shape) You definitely should- it's small enough for a handbag too, and cheap enough that you wouldn't mind if you lost it! :)
