Challenge Week 20: Valentines Day! :)

Isn't it crazy that I'm on week 20 already- that's nearly 1/2 way through! This weeks 52 week challenge theme is Valentines Day- the perfect excuse for a pink and glittery manicure :) I may be single, but I can appreciate the tradition of celebrating St. Valentines day, St. Valentine was (supposedly) a Priest in Ancient Rome who married Christians in secret (it was illegal) which is rather a sweet story (until you remember that he probably died a very horrible death!) My sister and I will be making enchiladas and watching girly films with lots of chocolate- happy Valentines day to us! :)

As I so often do when feeling indecisive I ended up with 5 different nails- each with a combination of pink, glitter and hearts.

I used a base coat of e.l.f. Light Pink on all but my thumb. On my little finger I drew little hearts with a small nail art brush in Barry M Shocking Pink and Silver Foil. My ring finger has a simple glitter gradient in Wet n Wild Sparked and a coat of Collection 2000 Sparkly Top Coat. The middle finger has a stripe of Barry M Pink Shatter, and two little hearts (from the pound shop nail art gem pack I got a while back)

My index finger has a heart shape 'drawn' with Sparked (this was really raised before I put a top coat on!) And lastly, my thumb has a coat of Barry M Shocking Pink with two stripes of Silver Foil effect made with a really long nail art brush, and two more silver hearts :)

The polishes I used:

e.l.f. Light Pink, Barry M Shocking Pink & Silver Foil, Wet n Wild Sparked,
Barry M Pink Shatter, Collection 2000 Sparkle Top Coat

Have you done a Valentines day mani this year? Maybe an anti-Valentines mani? :p

    1. Aww thank you :) You should give it a go- it's actually not that hard (I'm awful at anything artistic usually!) it just takes some practise :)
