A little e.l.f. (and a few other things) haul :)

It's been a while since I made an e.l.f. order, mainly because I didn't 'need' any new make up- not enough to justify an order anyway- but they have come out with several new products over the past few months so when they announced their 40% off discount just before Christmas I decided it was about time I treated myself (a Christmas present to myself!) I ordered on the 21st and it came on the 24th- I was really surprised that Royal Mail actually got it to me so fast before Christmas! Sorry it's taken so long for me to post, I've been busy! (also why my 52 week challenge post isn't going up today, I've not painted my nails yet!)

Here's what I got from e.l.f.!

Nail polishes: Red Velvet and Black- I love Red Velvet, it's a shimmery cranberry red shade and very Christmassy (I actually wore it on Christmas day, but forgot to take a picture, sorry!) and black is great for nail art- nice and opaque :) I think my old black was the first polish I've ever used up fully!

Some lip products:
  • Matte Lip Colour in Tea Rose- I've worn this a couple of times and I love it- it applies nicely (a bit easier than a lipstick as it pencil-like tip is smaller and more precise) and wears well. Despite it being called matte I don't think it's totally matte- there is a very slight sheen so it doesn't look dull. I have a feeling it will suffer with the same packaging problem as the e.l.f lipsticks as the product doesn't twist all the way down...
  • Regular line Lipstick in Charming- another lovely lipstick shade, a dark dusky pinky red shade- not quite like any other lipstick I have :)
  • Therapeutic Conditioning Lip Balm in Blackberry Creme- I love the Strawberry Creme flavour (I reviewed it!) and knowing that Dyna loves the Blackberry one so much that she bought 10- I decided that 40% off was the perfect time to try it! And I'm glad I did, I love the scent :) But I've used it about 4 times and it's already broken... darn twisty mechanism... I'll depot it very soon!

Another Cream Eyeshadow: I love my Dawn shade, and when the new shades were released I was excited to try Pewter :) It's a great shade; a greyish taupe with a hint of golden shimmer (there's no glitter like there is in Dawn which I'm rather pleased about) I can't wait to wear it!

A Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil in Gunmetal: I have Blissful Blush (a pale- almost peachy- gold shade) and I thought I'd like a darker one so that I could use it as a regular liner (I used Blush as an inner corner shade mostly) gunmetal reminds me of a pencil lead :)

A Studio Cream Blush in Seductress: when I heard these were coming out I was rather excited, but at £6.50 (though you get 15g!) I thought it was a bit much for something I couldn't test out before purchasing- however with the 40% off it was only £3.90- much more reasonable :) I haven't tried this on my face yet, but swatching on my hand tells me that it's really pigmented but quite easily blended- it's a very dark pink/slightly redish shade, but blended out it does give a kind of 'natural flush' look, I'm really looking forward to trying this out too!

My sister and I also did a (tiny) bit of sales shopping and I got a belated Christmas present from Amy- a lovely Boots Extracts set (a 50ml body wash and 50ml body butter) in the cranberry scent, it smells amazing and I'm sure they will both be great (I've used a few of their Brazil nut scented things before) This was a Christmas gift set, reduced from £6 to £3 :)

And whilst I was in Boots I got another £5 off No7 voucher... and I *accidentally* bought another nail polish; this one is Poolside Blue- a beautiful dark but bright blue, surprisingly (considering how many blue polishes I have) I don't have one at all like it- all my other blues seem either very pale or very dark!

Did you take advantage of the e.l.f. 40% offer? Have bought anything nice in the sales?
