I bought some really exciting things!

I know I usually post my 52 week challenge manicure on Mondays, but I have three purchases that I am SO excited about, I couldn't wait to share them with you!

Yesterday was the Christmas light switch-on; unfortunately I am a terrible blogger and left my camera at home... but my sister and I had a great time; the lights are pretty, we had our first festive Starbucks (I love gingerbread lattes, and my sister had the new praline mocha- also amazing!) and I found something rather unexpected in Boots:

I was lead to believe that this little beauty was a Selfridges exclusive (as I mentioned in my Vaseline Lip Tip review) so imagine my surprise when I spotted it in the queue for the checkout- I have to admit, I may have squealed a little... Needless to say it made it's way into my basket immediately. As I expected, I love this scent, I wouldn't say it smells exactly like Creme Brulee; it's more of a creamy vanilla, mixed with a hint of white chocolate- but either way it smells delicious. It also feels more moisturising than the other Lip Therapy Tins (perhaps this is just an effect of having such a rich and creamy scent?) though I haven't really used it enough to be sure yet.

As I've mentioned probably countless times over the past few weeks, I've been lusting after the Bundle Monster 25 plate set for ages. Last week I realised that I had £10 worth of Amazon vouchers, which meant that I could buy the set for a mere £6.99... how could I possibly refuse? So I ordered on Friday evening, received the dispatch email on Saturday and it dropped through my letterbox this morning! I'm really impressed with the shipping (which was free!) and even at £16.99 (which means 67p per plate!) this set is fantastic value- there are lots of different designs (and there are tonnes of full- nail patterns! and a Christmas tree!) and from what I've seen so far- my sister has just used the giraffe print one (I'll try and steal her hands for photos!) and I've done a couple of tests on paper- they are great quality. I'm thrilled! You can get them from Amazon for £16.99 with free shipping. Sorry the pictures aren't fantastic (photographing shiny and reflective objects is hard!) but you can clearly see the patterns, which is the important thing :) (click for a larger picture)

And last but certainly not least, I think I've mentioned before that my eyelash curlers are practically one-of-a-kind: I have no clue where they come from or what brand they might be, and despite trying several other types of curler, these are the only ones that work for me. So far I have found it completely impossible to find replacement rubber bits, even eBay has let me down before- I've resorted to buying new curlers just to get new rubber! After another pad wore out last week I decided to launch a brand new search for refills, and I actually managed to find some on eBay!

I got 5 rubber refills for £1.30, but there are (now) tonnes of different sellers with similar items (why did they not exist last year???) Shipping took a while, but I am so pleased with them- these 5 will probably last me years :) Thankfully they fit my curlers perfectly- though if you ever get refills that don't fit you can always trim the ends to fit (I've done this before too!)

So there are my three exciting purchases (though really, how exciting can eyelash curler refills be?...) Have you bought any super-exciting items recently?

  1. Ohhh bundlemonster! That is really exciting, I can't wait to see the stamped manis. Are you going to go through and systematically swatch each one on a neutral nail color? I've always wanted to know what the patterns all look like b/c I am interested in the Bundle Monsters but iunno if enough of the designs will appeal to me to make it worth buying.

Can't say I relate to the other two purchases, but I'm excited about the plates for you!!

  2. I know! I was so excited when I saw this mornings post! I've not really thought about it, but perhaps I will :) Maybe I'll stamp them all onto some white paper actually (that would be a good record for me to keep as well, and much easier than on my nails)

Hehe I know, I probably shouldn't be as excited about vaseline OR lash curler refills... I'm easily pleased! :)

  3. Yessss stamp! DO IT do it do it *peer pressure*
It's always nice to have a visual before wasting nail polish :P I would just use a neutral basic acryling paint or something cheap that'll clean off easy and just keep a record of what you have.

  4. Hehe, ok I'll give into your peer pressure! :p I know, it'll help me review them better if I've used every single stamp too :) Yeah I have an old black polish that's getting gloopy so I might use that, or some black acrylic paint (though I've never used acriliic paint for stamping before, is it ok?)

  5. Oh I have no idea! I've never stamped before D: I would assume anything that wipes off clean should be okay?

  6. Hehe ok, I'll probably have enough black polish anyway (I've done about 7 plates so far!)
