Challenge Week 24: Kawaii Nails!

This weeks 52 week challenge theme is a bit of a random one, I picked it because I thought it would be a lot of fun and it was quite different to a lot of the other themes- another nice challenge for everyone :)

Annoyingly I have quite a few new nail art supplies heading to me in the post that would have been super-useful for this week (I'll show you when they arrive) but instead I had to make do with hunting around the house for 'random stuff to go on my nails' (my Dad was very confused when he asked what I was doing... that'll teach him to be nosey!) and found some beads, sequins and rhinestones, thank goodness we like crafts in our house, we have drawers full of crafty/sparkly things :)

Models Own Pro French Pink & Collection 2000 Sparkle Top Coat
plus lots of rhinestones, beads and pearls

I used a very simple base of Models Own Pro French Pink (which for me is the perfect my-nails-but-healthy-looking shade) and a coat of Collection 2000 Sparkle Top Coat, then decided to create just an accent nail instead of coating all my nails in rhinestones (I knew it probably wouldn't last too long on my nails, as I have to leave the house and NOT look like a mad person later on) so I had a lot of fun playing a 'how many gems can I fit on one nail' game. Here's how it turned out:

I have to say, I kind of LOVE this- I was a bit skeptical at first, and sure it's not at all practical (especially the sequin I placed at the top which lasted about three whole minutes because I started typing) but I can sort of see why they are so popular in Japan- they are quite fun :)

What's the craziest thing you've ever put on your nails?

  2. OMG lol these sequin satellite dishes. So awesome. At first I thought you got a nail piercing ;P
But girl, I know what you mean...I've been putting off my kawaii nails because I don't have little cute crafty things to use ><

All I have are rhinestones and pearls, and they will have to do. I need me some cabochons. What do you have on the way?

    1. Haha glad you like them :) They're just regular crart sequins! You can get tonnes of stuff on eBay for pretty cheap- I have some mixed size/coloured pearls, multi-sized/ coloured rhinestones and multi-coloured tiny metallic balls on the way as well as some thin coloured tapes- I'm excited! :)

    2. That sounds exciting! Yeah I need an eBay nail haul. After I save up enough for rent and have some extra, I suppose. :D

    3. PS I'm going to try to use Blogspot for my nail blog....so I'm going to move to http://nailsparks.blogspot.com/ instead of nailspark.wordpress like I was using before.

I love Wordpress but it doesn't work with Google Friend Connect T_T And I feel like a lot of other bloggers use blogspot for their blogs, so its easier for them to follow another GFC blog rather than a Wordpress blog.

Initially I was doing this all for the fun of it, but having a group of readers feels nice, so I do want to try to develop some haha.
